Dear Enchanted Lantern Chairman,
Your position as Enchanted Lantern Chairman is imperative to the success of the programs that the Humanitarian Foundation manages. Enchanted Lanterns have been the backbone of our charitable endeavors for nearly 60 years and without those generous contributions, the trust would not have been able to sustain the programs for these many years and still be what it is today, well over $12 million. Without the fund, the Grottoes would not have be able to help the thousands of children who have been cared for through our Dental Care for Children with Special Needs and United Cerebral Palsy Research. It is important that you talk about Enchanted Lanterns and Charitable Contributions at all Grotto meetings and events. Our promise to you is that we will process the request and return the certificate, emblem and tax receipt to you for presentation at your next meeting or event to the donor, in a timely manner. All we ask is your promise to make that public presentation to the donor and make sure people have all the information needed to make those contributions and keep the programs fresh in every ones' mind.
To make your job a little easier, we have now incorporated the Enchanted Lantern Request form here on the web site. You can print the form and submit it with checks, money orders or credit card information to the Humanitarian Foundation 430 Beecher Rd Gahanna, OH 43230

The Humanitarian Foundation is always working to improve the programs and is opened to your suggestions. In the next magazine, the NEW Tier Giving Program will be officially underway. The information about the new Enchanted Lantern Society and Fairchild Society will be posted in the magazine and on the web site. There will be five (5) new pins to acknowledge the donor's contribution that we think will be very exciting to donors. Help us spread the word and with the new program, we think it will make your job even easier. As Chairman of the Enchanted Lantern and Welfare program, please know that I am here to help you in any way that I can along with the Humanitarian Foundation Office. Please feel free to call us with any questions, concerns or ideas that you may have.
As we move forward with this new program, I am looking forward to working closer with each of you in building an even stronger funding program that will allow us to help many more children.
Fraternally,
Robert J Black
Chairman
Enchanted Lantern Remuneration Reinstatement
Because of so many of inquiries and requests, the Humanitarian Foundation Trustees has reinstated the Enchanted Lanterns Remuneration program to the Grottoes. With each Enchanted Lantern contributions, members will be able to help their local Grotto receive money for local charitable endeavors. All Enchanted Lantern contributions are credited to the Grotto and starting with this year’s Enchanted Lantern year, ending December 31, 2009, the following program will begin effect.
- The first 10 Enchanted Lanterns the Grotto will receive $50.00
- The first 20 Enchanted Lanterns the Grotto will receive $100.00
- For each increment of 5 Enchanted Lanterns contributed after 20, there will be an additional $50.00 added. (i.e 25 EL = $150.00 / 30 EL = $200.00)
The money that the Grotto receives is ONLY to be used for local charitable endeavors. If the Grotto chooses, this money can also be returned to the Humanitarian Foundation for Enchanted Lanterns contributions. Those contributions will be processed and will count towards the next year’s Enchanted Lantern total. Many Grottoes have charitable programs, we hope this money will help promote those efforts and will put more Grotto visibility into the community.
If you have not made a contribution this year, this may be your opportunity for a tax deduction, a way to help your Grotto and most of all, a wonderful way to help a child in need.
